What are your favourite event planning apps?

There’s some great apps that can help you on the day of the event and there’s also some apps that can help you with some of your problems that you’re experiencing. The wonderful thing about apps is that they’re normally free or exceptionally cheap.

So I would encourage all organizers, if they have a problem – for example, booking people onto tables at a dinner or doing some registration with people when they arrive at an event – go to the app store and see what can do and what you can find. Ive been amazed with how many free and cheap apps there are. There’s one that I use which is Sign In. You just simply give an iPad to someone, they take a picture, it emails you their details and emails them their details. Its just fantastic.

When I talk about events being experiences – this idea of touch and feel and smell and involving all of the senses. So thats just an example of an app that can really do this, that you’re putting in the hands of an organizer. But I would encourage all organizers, if they have problems, not to think about solving it themselves straight away but go on and see if there’s mobile apps that actually help them do that.
