Event Managers can get shit done with the new Springpad

Written by Belle Beth Cooper on July 6, 2012

With a recent overhaul, Springpad added new features and more flexibility. For people in the events space, the new Springpad can be used as a curation tool, a bookmarking app and yes, even a project management app.

You might be surprised to see the ways you can use this nifty app.

Getting organized

Like Evernote, Springpad lets you create separate notebooks to organize your stuff. You can create a new notebook for each project, or keep projects inside the same notebook and organize them with tags. Each notebook, as well as your entire vault of content, is searchable by tags or keywords.

Getting stuff done

Inside a notebook you can create tasks with due dates and reminders like any other task management app. With the Android and iPhone apps, you can get notifications on your phone when tasks are due or add things to your notebooks on-the-go.

As well as tasks, you can create checklists within your notebooks, which also have reminders.

Everything you need

Each item you create gives you options to attach various items to it. You can upload files, images and videos or save links to an item. Inside your notebook you can also save blog posts and articles, product information, places, recipes, events and notes. This makes project management simple by keeping everything you need in one place.

Using the browser add-ons, you can collect items across the web as you browse, saving them into appropriate notebooks and adding tags as you go.

Bringing your team together

Springpad is collaborative, as any project management tool should be. It allows you to create private notebooks as well as public and shared notebooks that your team can add to.

You can access all of your notebooks from one dashboard and find things easily with Springpad’s filter and search tools. And with email integration, you don’t even need to leave your inbox to add to a project.

Nearly every project management app is missing something. What other extra features would you like to see in Springpad? Let us know in the comments below.
